Canada: Canadian barley exports during August 2004 and March 2005
Canadian exports seem to be almost exclusively malting barley, analyst said. During August 2004 and March 2005 484,000 tonnes were shipped to China, 147,000 tonnes to the U.S., 77,000 tonnes to Japan (incl. feed), 75,000 tonnes to Colombia.
By May 15 total exports had reached a level of 856,000 tonnes. Crop prospects are favourable, planting was a bit late, but soil moisture levels are the best since years.
